Zack is Back! Celebrate the Holidays with Boston’s Beloved Duckling Ornament

    Meet Zack: Boston’s Holiday Duckling

In the heart of Beacon Hill, there’s a familiar face that brings joy to neighbors and visitors alike. Zack the Boston Duckling has become a whimsical part of Charles Street’s story—greeting livery drivers, waving to shopkeepers, and even skating on the Frog Pond when the snow falls. This holiday season, Zack’s charm comes to life in a collectible ornament, available exclusively at Blackstone’s of Beacon Hill.

    A Keepsake with a Story

Zack is more than a holiday ornament—he’s a reminder of Boston’s warmth and community spirit. His story is told in playful rhyme:

In the wee hours of the night until the early light,

you may see a special sight.

    On Boston’s historic Beacon Hill,

Zack the duckling is at 40 Charles Street’s windowsill.

He is well known to the livery and delivery drivers,

greeting both the night owls and early risers.

Every day as the shop keeps arrive to turn the key,

Zack quacks a good morning and promptly leaves,

making way for the store customers to come in.

He crosses over to the Public Garden,

joining the ducks as the morning quacking sharpens,

In winter Zack dons his skates,

and on the Frog Pond practices his figure 8’s.

If you see him you should know,

breadcrumbs for ducklings are a dietary no.

So greet him with green grass or fresh fish stew.

It’s holiday season for all and Zack too!

Acquiring Zack means bringing a piece of Boston’s holiday magic into your home.
