Seven Must Try Cocktails
Here are five favorite recipes that combine seasonal flavor with timeless Boston charm.
- Maple Bourbon Old Fashioned - Mix 2 oz bourbon, ½ oz Runamok® maple syrup, and a dash of Woodford Reserve® Orange bitters. Stir over ice and garnish with an orange peel and cinnamon stick. Smooth, smoky, and deeply satisfying.
- Apple Cider Mule - Replace ginger beer’s summer zest with autumn warmth. Combine 2 oz vodka, 3 oz apple cider, ½ oz lime juice, and top with ginger beer. Serve in a copper mug with apple slices and cinnamon dust.
- Cranberry Gin Fizz - Bright and tart — perfect for a Boston brunch. Mix 2 oz gin, 2 oz cranberry juice, ½ oz lemon juice, and a splash of soda water. Garnish with cranberries and Bitters Lab Mixed Citrus for a festive touch.
- Pumpkin Spice Margarita – Combine a One Part Cocktail mix with 375ml of spirits (half a standard bottle) tequila. Shake over ice and strain into a chilled margarita glass. Sprinkle freshly ground nutmeg on top for that signature Fall flair.
- Cinnamon Cider Punch – Combine One Part Cocktail mix with 375ml of spirits (half a standard bottle) rum and apple cider to taste. Serve it warm or cold. Either way you’ll enjoy infused notes of gourmet cinnamon and apple in this seasonal sensation.
- The Raven’s Nip - Heat 4 cups apple cider and a cinnamon stick and simmer for five minutes or until the cinnamon is fragrant in the air. Remove from heat and add ¼ cups of lemon juice, Runamok® Syrup (preferable with sparkles), 1 750ml bottle dry white wine (pinot grigio or sauvignon blanc),and 1/3 cups of brandy. Stir to combine, cool (a little) and serve in punch cups or wine glasses. Garnish with an apple slice. (Recipe from Runamokmaple.com)
- Spiced Cranberry Apple Sangria - Stir together 2 cups cranberry juice, 2 cups apple juice, and 1/4 cup Runamok® Maple Syrup in a large pitcher. Combine 2 oranges, 1/2 cup halved fresh cranberries, 2 sprigs rosemary, and 3 star anise pods into the juice mixture and let sit for 30 minutes, then remove the rosemary. Let chill in refrigerator for at least 4 hours. When ready to serve, add 2 cups sliced small apples and 1 (750 ml) bottle pinot grigio (chilled). Serve over ice and garnish with star anise and fresh rosemary. (Recipe from Runamokmaple.com)
Three Magical Mocktails
Not every fall drink needs spirits to shine. Here are some other ideas to try:
- Sparkling Apple Spritz— a mix of chilled apple cider, club soda, and a hint of cinnamon syrup
