Pie in the Sky
ABOUT PIE IN THE SKY
In its 29th year, Pie in the Sky began as a grassroots community bake sale that helped fund our work to prepare and deliver hot nutritious meals to people experiencing the ill effects of HIV/AIDS.
When you purchase a $30 pie for your holiday table or a Community Servings client, you also provide a week’s worth of scratch-made medically tailored meals for a neighbor in need.
Over several decades and with support from more than 150 Boston-area chefs, bakers, caterers, and restaurants that generously donated freshly-baked apple, pecan, pumpkin, and sweet potato Thanksgiving pies, Pie in the Sky grew to become known as “the World’s Greatest Bake Sale.”
Now a time-honored holiday tradition, “Pie,” as we often call it, has been adopted by like-minded agencies across the country to help feed people in their community experiencing a range of critical and chronic illnesses. But, like us, they also believe no one should worry about being sick and hungry, especially during the holiday season.
Pre-pandemic, we sold close to 25,000 pies annually, raising more than $850,000 and allowing us to provide tens of thousands of scratch-made meals for neighbors and families facing serious illnesses.
With your continued support, we know 2021 can be a "record-baking" year!
As Team Jennifer Hill, we at Blackstone's are working with Boston-based Community Servings to support our neighbors in need across Massachusetts this holiday season through Pie in the Sky, the agency’s annual fundraising bake sale, now in its 29th year.
We hope you’ll join us in making sure those in our community who are too sick to shop and cook for themselves and their loved ones know they are not in their fight alone.
The good news is that helping couldn’t be easier!
Simply visit PieInTheSky.org to make a $30 donation and select your choice of locally-baked Apple, Pecan, or Pumpkin pie (their gift to you!) to serve on Thanksgiving. Not only will you enjoy one of the season’s most coveted desserts surrounded by the warmth of family and friends, but that first bite will taste even sweeter knowing you helped provide a week’s worth of meals to someone less fortunate. Talk about serving so much more than a slice!
No need for a pie this year? No problem! You still help by gifting a pie to someone else, or you can purchase a ‘Pie for a Community Servings Client.’ Both options still feed one of Community Servings clients for a week.
You can pick up your pie the TUESDAY before Thanksgiving (Nov. 23rd) at one of dozens of COVID19 compliant outdoor sites, many with drive-thru options available.
Please note the number of pies for sale is limited – so visit the website and donate to get your pie today before your favorite flavor is gone! And when you do, please make sure to choose me as your pie seller! Thank you for helping me support Community Servings efforts to feed food-insecure, critically ill neighbors and their families this Thanksgiving!
